Toby has been teaching science and Japanese to 7th and 8th grade students at The Waverly School in Pasadena, CA since 2002. She holds a B.A. in Geography and Environmental Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles. Toby taught English as a foreign language for four years in Japan’s public schools on the Japan Exchange Teaching Program.
She began teaching SEPUP Curriculum in 2003 (SALI in 2003, IALS and IAPS in 2007, and IAS Third Edition in 2017). In addition, she co-teaches an organic farming elective at Waverly’s one acre organic farm, and she chairs the Waverly Science Department K-12.
