“Every morning, you have two choices: continue to sleep with your dreams or wake up and chase them.“
— Arnold Schwarzenegger
Holly knew that she wanted to be in education since 2nd grade, as she played “school” most days after she got home from school. She comes from a family of school-workers, many of the members being teachers. Holly was born and raised in Michigan. When she graduated from high school, she went to Eastern Michigan University to begin her degree in Education. She graduated with honors with a Liberal Arts - Education degree with a double minor in Integrated Science and Math.
After graduation she went back to her hometown of Flat Rock, Michigan and obtained a job as the first STEAM teacher in the upper elementary building teaching 3rd-5th grades. There she created the program, as it was brand new to the district and no curriculum was provided yet. After a wonderful year, there was a need for a 7th grade science teacher at the middle school and she was moved into that position where she happily completed the next 6 years of her teaching career. Holly has a passion for students and science. Her mission includes students getting their hands into the content and doing so in a way that is easily accessible to teachers. This is how her journey started with the company of Lab-aids as her mission aligns exactly with theirs.
When she is not working, Holly enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, thrifting, and anything Taylor Swift.
