I was first introduced to Science and Global Issues: Biology when I volunteered to field test. I liked how the program is designed for high school science students to make sense of concepts and use evidence to inform their decisions. The classroom is now an environment where students build their own understanding with support of their classmates and the teacher.
The best part for my students is that they understand the science of real, relevant issues.
Since using Science and Global Issues: Biology, I am able to focus more on how I am teaching and interacting with students instead of working toward what I should be teaching. I better understand learning progressions and how seamlessly an issue can tie together concepts and practices.
