What will students be doing?
SEPUP students quickly come to expect that they will be purposefully active during science. Science and Engineering Practices are a regular part of their day and are the main vehicle for content as students collect data, engage in relevant dialog, and keep notes both on what they've learned and their understanding as it develops.
It's not a textbook.
Instructional design and unique equipment prioritize student ideas and learning through personal, concrete experiences related to the unit’s issue, three-dimensions, and performance expectations.
Student books present content through a variety of activities including Labs, Investigations, Modeling, Design and Problem Solving. Even reading becomes an activity through embedded literacy strategies, Talking it Over, and Role Play.
LABsent - for absent and remote students
Any program with significant material use needs to consider how absent students will make up an activity without placing a burden on the teacher - enter LABsent. Students access special student sheets and videos from the day's activity so that they can collect and analyze the data, and return to their group caught up and ready to move on.
Materials managed
A place for everything and everything in its place. Custom designed for each unit, our program drawers have a unique space to hold each item for optimal storage and access. Front labels list the drawer's contents exactly as they are listed in the program's Teacher Edition so it's easy to find and easy to put away.
