SEPUP is part of the University of California, Berkeley's Lawrence Hall of Science. SEPUP programs are unique among the research-based programs as the only one to connect content through personal and societal issues. Twenty years of evaluation and research shows that SEPUP's programs increase student's interest in science and perception of its relevance to their lives

An intentionally flexible approach to each activity type helps accomplish our goal that all students achieve scientific literacy. Our proven science programs also provide frequent opportunities for students to develop their language skills through embedded strategies. Furthermore, integrated into our programs is the SEPUP assessment system that sets up ways to collect evidence on student learning and improve performance.
