SEPUP™ Fields and Interactions

How do different types of force fields help us design transportation? Investigative phenomena within the lessons connect back to the issue and storyline.

Anchoring phenomenon: Objects can be observed to interact with other objects even when they are not in contact with one another.

Examples explored include static electricity, the behavior of magnets, and the observation that objects fall toward the earth. Students generate and answer questions such as: How do objects interact at a distance? What is a field? How does a field store energy?

LAB-AIDS materials and kits are relevant to the students and take difficult concepts and really break it down in ways that I think our students would have a better chance at understanding.  We really liked the Labsent ability to help students who are absent or even just to use as a teaching aid to demonstrate visually ways to set-up the lab for different types of learners.  We also feel that the materials really speak to all students across our diverse student population so that everyone can benefit from it.
